Being the daughter of South African Rocker, Dave Ornellas from the 70s band Hawk, Beshara Ornellas started singing from a very early age and first performed on stage at age 11. From the moment she stepped onto that stage, she knew that she was born to be an entertainer and has been doing so ever since. At 16 her family recorded their first album and spent four months traveling around Scandinavia, Italy, Portugal, the UK, Australia and the USA singing as a family. Beshara and her brother Daniel started their first band Free when she was 17 and they traveled around South Africa. At 18 she entered the Hard Rock Cafe competition, Stairway to the Stars competing as a solo artist against various bands and other artists and took first place winning money with which she recorded her debut album Beshara. After school, she went to live in the States for a year and when she returned, at 21, her and her brother started the band Naked Lyric which became quite a success. With the band, they traveled around South Africa and the UK performing at various schools and festivals and built up quite a substantial fan base. Naked Lyric had a few songs on rotation on 5fm with Bite my tongue reaching no 12 on the top 40 and were nominated for a SAMA for best newcomer and won the Cape Town Battle of the Bands. Due to personal circumstances, the band broke up in their prime and each band member went their own way. Besharas brother now plays for well known South African Band Tree 63 who live in Nashville, USA. After the band broke up, Beshara was offered to go and perform with a band in the middle east and she did so on and off for a year, performing in Bahrain, Muscat and Amman, Jordan. She was then approached by Sun City to be their resident singer at the Sun City Hotel Casino which she did for 9 months. At the beginning of 2007 beshara decided to say No More to contract offers and started concentrating on doing Corporate Functions instead which has been her best decision yet. She has performed on more than one occasion for the likes of Pam and Andrew Golding, Old Mutual, First National bank, at various Golf Courses and worked with people like Barry Hilton. Beshara is very much more an entertainer rather than just a singer and engages her audience, capturing them with her unforgettable performance and Pizzaz. With her cordless microphone, she goes into the crowd, sings to the people and encourages them to participate by singing or dancing. She has a great presence and is not at all intimidating in her manner as she reads her audience well and with her vast experience, knows how to handle any situation she is presented with. You can trust Beshara to add great value to any function she performs at with her classy, fun, vibrant personality and excellent vocal ability. Compliments for Beshara performing at The Links Golf course (St Francis Bay), an FNB function (CTICC) and singing with Pam and Andrew Golding. A thousand thank yous for the most amazing party!!!!!!
