Riaad Moosa, who is a qualified medical doctor, is one of the hottest tickets in South African comedy today. His humour is based on his experiences as a young Muslim relating to post-911 Islamophobia, growing up in Cape Town and general observational and opinion-based humour. Skirting around the relatively taboo topics with charm and ease this comedy doctor will split your sides and keep you in stitches at the same time. He is an experienced comic, MC and facilitator and has performed at scores of corporate events, and hosted such illustrious events at the Loerie Awards. Splitting his time between Cape Town and Johannesburg, Riaad has been seen across the country in the Heavyweight Comedy Jams, as part of Laugh Out Loud (the largest stand-up show in South African TV history), and on the King Size Comedy line-ups. He has supported Marc Curry and Russel Peters on their respective local tours, and headlined The New South Africa Stands Up at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2003. As an accomplished writer and performer, he has also been seen on SABC 1s The Pure Monate Show. His one-man show, Stricty Halaal, was a massive countywide hit in 2006 & 2007.
